About me and my therapy practice
If you feel like it's time for change but feel lost or stuck and don't know where to turn or which direction to go counselling can help you find a way forward .
I have been a practicing therapist for over 8 years and its an absolute privilege to be allowed into peoples lives and to be a part of their healing process.
I find working using an integrated approach allows me to work in a way to suit your individual needs, whilst always maintaining an environment of warmth and non judging .
I have also achieved the BACP Accreditation which demonstrates that I work with high standards of knowledge , experience and my dedication to continuous professional and personal development .
Practice description
I have been fortunate to have worked in a trauma service as a counsellor for , 4 years .This service specialises in working therapeutically with survivors of Abuse - Rape, Sexual Assault ,Child sex abuse , Physical abuse , Coercive control , and Emotional abuse . This was a wonderful organisation and has given me great competence in working within this field.
My role in the counselling room is to sit alongside you and let you be heard without judgement and without telling you how you should or shouldn't feel . Going at a pace that is suitable for you .
I provide a space for you to be given a voice and to be valued.
The therapeutic relationship allows the healing process to begin and change occur .
We work together to rebuild life. Changing the way you think, feel and act.
I currently have a counselling role within an organisation that offers accomadation for complex needs .
I also currently work offering short term therapy (5/6 sessions ) to university students via Zoom. Often working with - grief, anxiety, depression , motivation , and change.
Additionally I have very valuable experience of counselling students in a college.
I offer a free 15 minute introduction (if requested ) , either by phone or Zoom , this enables you to decide if you feel I am somebody suitable for your therapy.
