As a UKCP registered psychotherapist and BACP registered counsellor I have over 30 years' clinical experience in the private sector, the NHS, further education and the HMP services in my capacity as psychotherapist, counsellor, supervisor, life coach, lecturer and trainer.
I respect, understand and validate your unique circumstances and values and will provide an environment of trust and safety where we can work collaboratively and explore your way of 'being in the world' where you will be helped to gain and develop your inner resources and resilience and be able to discuss different perspectives, all of which may lead to self-empowerment and choices you could make to improve your quality of life.
The quality of the therapeutic relationship is paramount and it is vital that it reflects your pace in a climate of authenticity, trust and acceptance.
Life can be like a dance - the music can be fast or slow, loud or soft, soothing or disturbing, sad or joyous; how we dance in response to the music and what is evoked are unique to us and may depend on our mood, perspectives, disposition and life experiences.

My first session
Sessions are 50 minutes and our first session will be an opportunity to discuss your difficulties and how we can work collaboratively to address these and identify realistic goals to work towards. We can agree on a fixed number of sessions or open ended work based on what has been discussed.
Establishing a sound therapeutic relationship is key as a basis for the work.
