About me and my therapy practice
I am a UKCP Accredited Psychotherapist with over 20 years experience of working with general therapeutic issues and trauma. I use an integrative-relational approach to working with individuals, couples, young people and groups. I believe that each person is unique and as such I use approaches that will be best suited to you as an individual. I may use a combination which involves looking back at your past, clarifying and understanding your thoughts and behaviours and helping you to understand and express your emotions. We will work together to find a way through the problems that are troubling you to enable you to find more satisfying ways of living. It is a collaborative process.
I facilitate groups using Process Group Therapy. I have been trained in CBT and Mindfulness based stress reduction. I am a qualified teacher and trainer and have worked as a university and college lecturer on health psychology, counselling courses and workshops. I supervise qualified and trainee therapists as well as support workers in charities and agencies. I integrate therapy and coaching to work with eating and health problems and achieved a Diploma in Principles of Nutrition in 2016. More importantly, I understand how difficult it might be to take the first step into therapy, so I provide a warm, safe space to enable you to speak freely about what it is that is bringing you to see me.
Please call me for any further information you may need before arranging an assessment session.
(Please note: couple sessions are £85 per hour)
Practice description
To provide maximum flexibility I am currently holding sessions face to face, online, or a mixture of both.
My first session
During the first session I will explain my practice, take some initial record information from you, and give you the space to ask any questions you may have before moving into your reasons for coming to therapy. This means that the first session may be slightly longer than subesequent sessions, but it will give you a good idea about whether you feel comfortable talking to me.
The initial session provides the space for us to gain a sense of each other and to decide if my practice is the right one for you.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified integrative-relational supervisor providing supervision to individuals and groups.
I am a primary supervisor for Metanoia.
I supervise qualified counsellors and psychotherapist as well as students and have supervised in agencies providing therapy for adults with various issues, young people, the bereaved and people who have experienced all types of trauma.
I have taught on counselling courses in higher education and work as a trainer for a charity providing support to victims of serious crime.
I value my own supervision and continue to receive great benefit from it. I enjoy the process of supervision and find it very worthwhile to assist practitioners in developing therapeutic self-awareness through non-judgemental collaboration.
