About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I am Sarah Edge and I run Edge Therapy from Thrive Wellbeing Hub.

I provide counselling & psychotherapy and supervision, with a focus on pre & postnatal mental health (and surrounding issues). I work online, by phone and face to face.

I describe my therapy style as working from a person- centred foundation, integrating concepts from the compassion focussed and trauma informed approaches. I centre my way of working around five main principles; acknowledging trauma, loss and adjustment, normalising psychological distress in the perinatal period, psychoeducation, experiencing compassion, and authenticity.

I offer a personalised and person- centred approach to postpartum psychological care.

I focus on working with women, and perinatal mental health (and associated symptoms of anxiety and depression compounded by hormones, trying to conceive, pregnancy, baby loss, birth, infant feeding and the postnatal period). This is where I feel my strengths, skill and knowledge exist, and I am passionate about supporting women through some of the most vulnerable and life changing times in their life. I also believe that making, carrying, birthing and raising babies involves some level of loss, physical and emotional trauma and that women deserve time and support to physically and emotionally recover.
