About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative counsellor working in South Liverpool & Liverpool city centre with 25 years' experience. I believe my role is to help you to understand your emotions and experiences, and to find your own answers and move forwards in a safe, non-judgemental, supportive environment.
I worked in NHS Primary Care for 12 years with the full range of common mental health problems: anxiety, relationship problems, depression, post natal depression, stress, and abuse. I work from a person-centred base and have additional training in cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness and Interpersonal Psychotherapy and have also worked with victims of crime and in further education.
My approach has the individual person at the centre which means that pure person centred counselling is sometimes appropriate but that I can draw on a range of strategies to meet individual need when required.
I also work with chronic physical illness from a whole person perspective focussing on addressing the emotional impact, strategies that can help you cope and adjusting to living with disability.
Clinics are available in Liverpool Centre and in South Liverpool during the day time, and some evenings, both have excellent public transport links. Please call for a free chat to see whether we could work together and to discuss any issues including accessibility. Alternatively, email to book an introductory session to discuss your needs. I am a recognised provider for Aviva, Axa PPP Healthcare, BUPA, Aetna Global Benefits and VitalityHealth private medical insurance.
