About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced psychotherapist/counsellor and have worked for over 25 years in the NHS, voluntary & corporate sectors. Through my private practice, One to One Counselling, I have helped many people to live their lives with more joy and authenticity.

I offer face to face counselling & psychotherapy at my practice in Archway, North London and online counselling via Zoom or Skype or, if required, on the phone. Whichever way we meet, I provide a confidential and secure environment where you can fully explore your inner world of thoughts and feelings.

I lived and worked in Latin America for 10 years. Clients from all backgrounds and sexual orientations are welcome to my practice and I strive to provide a service which meets the needs of each individual.

As your counsellor, I will engage with you as a whole person rather than a set of symptoms. Perhaps you have had a bereavement, or you are low in mood, feeling anxious, having difficulties with relationships, issues around your sexuality, problems at work or you're facing a life transition. Whatever your experience, my aim is to support you to make changes or come to terms with things that cannot be changed, to live more fully and authentically.

Rather than being troubled by a specific issue you may be feeling generally dissatisfied - a sense that something is missing in your life. Counselling can help you to explore what is holding you back, reignite your motivation and regain a sense of purpose with the confidence that you are directing your own journey rather than merely responding to external forces and pressures.

I am an accredited and registered member of the regulating body, British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am fully insured and am supervised in accordance with their guidelines, I adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling & Psychotherapy and to their complaints procedure.

Practice description

My aim is to create a warm and non-judgemental space where you can explore deeply whatever is troubling you and feel, possibly for the first time, truly heard. Our conversation will centre on your current situation and we will discuss the impact of early experiences when this can shed light on how you feel in the present. As body and mind are inextricably connected, I will explore with you how your emotions and feelings manifest as sensations in your body.

My approach has a firm person-centred core and my years of in- depth training give a sound base to my practice. I draw on many years of experience as a psychotherapist and as an older person to work intuitively in the service of my client.
