About me and my therapy practice
Welcome to The Changing Room
Choosing the right counsellor may seem daunting, especially when you are feeling stuck or overwhelmed by life events.
I hope the information provided here helps inform you as you take this next step. I specialise in Integrative Counselling which uses a variety of counselling models such as CBT, Psychodynamic and Humanistic. These are all from a Person-Centred perspective to meet the needs of my individual clients, whether it be short-term focused therapy or long-term work.
My ethos as a therapist is one of empathic collaboration to help on your path towards clarity and change. Together we can start to make links and see patterns in your life enabling you to resolve the issues that are effecting your emotional wellbeing and find practical steps to empower you to move forward.
I offer a safe and relaxed space where we are able to explore the issues that have brought you to seek help, whether it be personal, relationship or work related.
With over 20 years experience, I work one to one with my clients providing sensitive, confidential therapy to adults, employees, adolescents, children and families. Along side this I work for clients in both the commercial, charity and education sectors.
To help you decide whether we can build a positive therapeutic relationship I offer all my clients a free initial consultaion in which you can share your initial thoughts, feelings, and talk about the difficulties you are experiencing.
I look forward to hearing from you.

My first session
Firstly, I understand that you may feel nervous or worried and will do my very best to help put you at ease.
I offer a free consultation when you have the opportunity to discuss counselling in general, and to ask any questions you may have prior to booking therapy, no question is too silly or trivial.
Remember, this session belongs to you, so use it in whatever way works best.
However during your first counselling session I will typically ask certain questions about you and your life. This information helps me make an initial assessment of your situation and what work may be most helpful.
This may include;
- Your reasons for seeking counselling.
- Your personal history and current situation.
- Your current symptoms.
- Previous counselling experience, if any.
- What you may expect from the counselling process.
- What you are looking to change or achieve.
