I work Tuesdays to Fridays and undertake a combination of clinic based sessions and those sessions taken outside such as walk & talk and animal assisted sessions.
I also offer sessions via Zoom & WhatsApp.
Using online media means that there are no geographical boundaries to working from wherever you are and where I am in Huddersfield.
About me and my therapy practice
Based in Slaithwaite nr.Huddersfield, Clouds is an established counselling and psychotherapy practice offering its services to Huddersfield and surrounding areas since 1995.
I use a combination of different therapeutic styles to suit your needs. For example, Brief Focus Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy focuses on the “here and now”, and problem solving strategies.
In addition I provide a blend of the above with Transactional Analysis and Relate methodologies. This helps you to make sense of what you do and why you do it, enabling you to identify the changes you want to make, moving your life in a positive direction.
Integrating Yogic breathing and basic movement to help decrease anxiety and depression.
You can also explore your therapy in an indoor clinic, outdoors in tranquil beautiful countryside, either walk and talk, or equine assisted therapy, working with a team of 4 horses and psychotherapist. Alternatively you may choose to have your sessions via telephone, WhatsApp, or Zoom in a place where you feel most comfortable and won't be interrupted.
Clouds Counselling and Psychotherapy Ltd. was developed in 2003 providing therapeutic services to adults, young people, families and couples with a variety of issues. This also includes many years of working for employee assistance providers, offering counselling and support to employees and management both on and off site. I work contractually for Kirklees, Yorkshire Water, PIVOT Educational Consultancy Ltd. and other large organisations.
I provide onsite support for companies following critical incidents and major changes whilst also presenting many bespoke training packages for a variety of organisations including local authorities, voluntary and charitable organisations.
I hosts a variety of therapy related workshops throughout the year, including Shamanic drum journeying with the horses. Workshops and bespoke are training available upon request.
Practice description
I am an Accredited Practitioner of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Registered Member of EAGALA, BUPA and AVIVA. I work according to their codes of ethics, confidentiality and good practice.
As a counsellor and therapist since 1995, I went on to develop my private practice in 2003, Clouds Counselling and Psychotherapy Ltd., counselling adults, young people, families and couples with a variety of difficulties. This includes many years working for employee assistance providers, offering counselling and support to employees and management both on and off site. I undertake work for Kirklees, Yorkshire Water, PIVOT Educational Consultancy Ltd and other large organisations on a contractual basis.
In 2014 I became an Equine and mental health specialist (EAGALA). Being with the horses can offer a unique experience where verbal communication is a hurdle to overcome when relating to others, or expressing your feelings. If verbal communication feels like a hurdle, then working with horses can give you a unique experience, by freeing you up to express your innermost thoughts and feelings. By being around the horse you can experience a depth of personal understanding that can ease emotional pain, develop your confidence, trust and belief in yourself.
I provide onsite support for companies following critical incidents and major changes and I have presented many bespoke training packages for a variety of organisations including Local Authorities, voluntary and charitable organisations.
My work goes beyond the clinic into Consultancy for corporate clients who understand that they have a duty of care and appreciate that good workplace communication is key to business success.
Continued Professional Development is a key factor for all therapists and I participate in a range of learning, both new and refresher, to provide people the best therapeutic experience I can.
