About me and my therapy practice

I am a Person-Centred and Existential counsellor/psychotherapist.

Person-Centred Therapy was developed in the 1950s by Dr. Carl Rogers, an American psychologist, as a non-directive therapy. Rogers believed that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is the context in which healing and growth can - and will - take place if the client experiences the right core conditions: the therapist’s genuineness, respect and empathy. ItIt is astonishing how elements that seem

Existential Therapy asks what it’s really like to be you, to be alive now, in your body, in your world. What are your values and beliefs? What, in essence, gives your own life meaning? Existentialism focuses on the basic concerns of life: awareness of our own mortality, anxiety, loneliness and confusion, and balances them with life, hope, relational contact and meaning.

I will not claim to be an expert in your life nor offer advice. Therapy is a collaborative process, with the therapist alongside the client, both of us focusing on your concerns and exploring ways to bring about change. My aim is for you to be more fully yourself with the freedom to grow.

Practice description

I provide counselling and psychotherapy services for individual clients and couples in central London. My office is in Wimpole Street W1, just a ten-minute walk from Oxford Circus, Warren Street, Goodge Street and Regent’s Park underground stations. I also offer sessions online via Zoom or by telephone if you prefer.

In the safety of a confidential and supportive relationship, you will have the freedom to discuss your concerns and you will be encouraged to focus on your feelings. Together, we will explore the origin and meaning of these feelings, and how they relate to your current experience. Through this process, you may discover that certain core beliefs about yourself and the world, which were once helpful, may no longer serve you well. By understanding the past and gaining insight into your present issues, you may begin to replace outdated beliefs with healthier behaviours and perspectives.

Although this process might be challenging, the focus of our work together will always be on enhancing your self-awareness, transforming confusion into clarity and self-doubt into self-esteem. Therapy can be a path to help you to live the life you want.
