About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Emily, a qualified counsellor and therapist with almost 15 years experience. I work exclusively online and use a ‘Person-Centred’ approach, which means sessions focus on what will help you by supporting you to find your own solutions and better understand yourselves.
I specialise in PMDD and neurodivergence. I'm passionate about working with clients to understand these diagnoses and find ways to move through life more smoothly.
I know how daunting it can be to ask for help, and how confusing and overwhelming it can be to find the right help. If you would like to know more about me and how I work we can arrange a time to speak and go over any questions you have.
Practice description
I offer a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental style of counselling; it is important to me that my clients feel safe, valued and understood. My practice is Trauma Informed, which means I am always aware that the traumas we have experienced impact our everyday lives.
As a therapist I have experience working with a huge range of life’s challenges, from depression and anxiety to substance abuse and grief. Whether you are looking for a space to unpick a new problem or for support to process the past, I am open and available to your story and experience. Whatever you bring to therapy is unlikely to shock me!
Over my years of practice, I have developed areas of specialist interest where I have gained in-depth knowledge and experience; working with women and AFAB with Premenstrual Dysphoric disorder (PMDD) and working with neurodivergence. For more information about how I work, or my specialisms please check out my website.
My first session
I offer either a free 15 minute call to learn a little bit about each other or an initial 30 minute session for £30 where we can go into more detail. I will explain about how I work as a therapist and I open the space to talk more about what has led you to seek therapy.
I encourage questions and am really open to hearing what works best for you. I will also explain briefly my Therapy Contract and payments.
If from here we feel we would work well together we can book in first 50 minute session where we start to think about the things that have brought you to therapy.
What I can help with
Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Addictions, Anger management, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Child related issues, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Cultural issues, Depression, Disability, Health related issues, Identity issues, Infertility, Loss, Menopause, Neurodiversity, Phobias, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Stress, Substance Dependency, Trauma, Women's issues, Work related issues
