I offer online and in-person relationship and sex therapy for couples and individuals. In-person sessions are available on Mondays from North London Finchley and Saturdays from the Central London location.
About me and my therapy practice
My training started in 2006 with Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships and I continued my professional development with Relate Institute (MA in Relationship Therapy, PGDip in Psychosexual Therapy). I am also trained as a clinical supervisor with The Grove Practice. Clinical supervision is offered to trainees and experienced counsellors in Relate National, NHS and private practice
I work integratively, which means that I have training in various counselling approaches (systemic, psychodynamic, CBT) and I apply my knowledge and experience to tailor a unique intervention to each client to meet their specific needs. By combining elements drawn from different schools of psychological theory and research, integrative therapy becomes a more flexible and inclusive approach to treatment than more traditional, singular forms of psychotherapy.
Practice description
What are the most common issues people bring to sex therapy? Sex has become routine and is always the same; no desire for sex with your partner (loss of desire/libido); erectile difficulties; difficulties with orgasm (anorgasmia, premature ejaculation, delayed ejaculation); painful sex; the impact of sexual abuse; questioning your sexual identity.
People gain a range of benefits from psychosexual therapy depending on their needs and the difficulties they bring. Talking about sexual problems can seem daunting, and most people feel really relieved to discuss the problems that may have been bothering them for some time and this, in itself, can have very beneficial effects on your sex life. For other people, a structured programme of help (behavioural tasks, mindfulness) can resolve their sexual problems.
I offer support to people who are restoring their intimacy and sexual functioning after cancer treatments.
What are the most common issues that people bring in relationship therapy?
Relationship Discord and recurrent arguments; loss of trust; feeling lonely; affairs; ending a relationship; power and control in the relationship; becoming parents' feeling distant from your partner; retirement.
Relationship therapy can help people understand why their relationship is in distress or why they feel distant from their partner. If you are not happy with a certain dynamic in your relationship, we can explore why is it there, what triggered it in your relationship, what made you vulnerable to experience this particular problem and what you and your partner both do to maintain it. Being more aware of one’s own behaviour, emotional state and thinking processes allows one to be more in control of what response one can choose in a given situation. The couples can agree on how they can recognise when the tension building up and how not to let it escalate.
My first session
The first session is an assessment that lasts 50 minutes. You can attend on your own or with your partner. You can tell me about your difficulties and I shall be asking you questions about how these difficulties impact your physical/emotional state, your relationships; what was happening in your life when you noticed the problems started if you tried to do something to address the issues. After an assessment, it will be clearer what kind of therapy/counselling you need.
You can ask any questions about the process of counselling and my experiences and qualifications. If we decide to work together, we shall establish your availability to come for regular sessions, the frequency of sessions, cost and your preferred method of paying.

About me and my therapy practice
I offer individual and group supervision to trainees and practicing practitioners within NHS, Relate and those in private practices as relationship counsellors and sex therapists.Practice description
I believe supervision works most creatively and productively if the therapist feels dynamic, supported and influential in shaping the work. I see my role as supervisor in helping a practitioner to identify blocks, impasse, feeling stuck within the work and reflecting on interventions, technique and ideas to move forward; identifying useful resources, reading, CPDs when appropriate; to look a self-care, best practice and issues of ethics in clinical context.
Models of supervision vary, but essentially the ‘7 Eyed Model’ can create a good broad spectrum from which to work.
Please do contact me to discuss supervision further.

Prior to our first session we shall a telephone conversation (free of charge) to discuss our contract, what type of supervision you had before and what kind of supervisor you are looking for.
