About me and my therapy practice

I’m an experienced counsellor, based in Oswestry. Specialising in: Person-Centred and EMDR Therapy

I have been a qualified counsellor for 19 years. I provide compassionate support and trauma-informed therapy for individuals of all age groups, I also work with couples.

My main approach is person-centred which is grounded in empathy, respect and authenticity. I believe that each person has the capacity for growth, resilience, and self-understanding. I provide a therapeutic space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported without judgment. I offer you a relaxed, supportive space where you can just be yourself. I tailor each session to your needs, always working at your pace and in a way that feels right for you.

I’ve worked with adults, children and young people facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, trauma, family and relationship issues, low self-esteem, bereavement and loss, and challenging life transitions.

In our work together, you’ll find a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at your own pace. I offer you a confidential, trusting relationship where you are met with genuine understanding and care. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, stress, trauma, depression, low self worth, grief, relationship challenges or you’re feeling lost or stuck or you’re constantly worrying and overthinking or you’re just trying to understand yourself better, whatever is going on for you right now, I’m here to support you — with care, presence, and understanding.

I am also trained as an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) therapist — EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based method for working with trauma.

I offer in-person sessions in Oswestry. I also offer sessions online/telephone making it easier for you to access the support you need from wherever you are.

Please feel able to contact me today if you want to arrange an appointment or if you want to ask me any questions about my counselling service.

My first session

I offer you a welcoming non-judgmental, client-centred safe space so that you can feel comfortable, heard, valued and understood. I offer you a space where you can just be yourself — no pressure, no judgment. I tailor each session to each client to meet their individual needs.

The first counselling session is designed to establish rapport, gather background information and begin building a therapeutic relationship. The first session will involve an explanation of the counselling process, or how EMDR therapy works and also an explanation of confidentiality. The first session involves clients talking about what has brought them to counselling to help me understand the context of their concerns.

If you have any questions about the first session then please feel able to contact me and I’ll happily answer any questions you may have.
