During these uncertain times and following government and WHO guidelines for social distancing and staying indoors, I offer online sessions.

My approach to counselling is integrative with a transpersonal perspective. As a psychosynthesis counsellor I bring a practical working method that integrates a collection of techniques and exercises designed to help you move towards what you want in your life.

Working together can support you in realising your creative potential, increase your ability to function harmoniously in the modern world and improve the quality of all of your relationships.

People find me friendly, warm and approachable and able to listen without judgement. I offer a safe and confidential space for you to bring your concerns.

As a qualified and experienced counsellor with many years working in the NHS and in private practice, my framework in helping others is based in our interconnectedness to each other and the world at large, finding natural ways to mindfully nourish ourselves, and that we all have the resources we need to take care of ourselves. My job is to support you in hearing, understanding and heeding these within yourself.

I work short term and long term with individuals and couples.

My private practice is in West London and online.

About me and my therapy practice

In 2009, I qualified as an Integrative Counsellor holding a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling. I have done further training in Person-Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression, and Systemic Family Therapy, and am currently pursuing an Advanced Couples Therapy Diploma.

Prior to studying counselling, I trained with Psychology of Vision and the work of Dr Chuck Spezzano for 12 years. This is an innovative transpersonal approach which is profoundly effective and creative using cutting edge psychological tools. This model is based on relationships, leadership and a non-denominational spirituality.

As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I adhere to their Code of Ethics and Conduct and regularly attend Professional Development courses to refine and develop my skills. I attend ongoing clinical supervision.

My first session

If you're interested to know more about how a counselling session may work for you, please get in touch for a free introductory session (20 -30 min) to see if we're a good match to work together.

The first session is an assessment which lasts 1.5hrs where I will ask standard introductory questions to my new clients  about their life.

I usually want to know what experience or event happened before your decision to have therapy and how you have been coping with the problem that is bringing you into therapy in order to understand how you cope with difficult situations.

It is normal to feel a little apprehensive, or nervous when meeting someone for the first time who might ask you some personal and sensitive questions such as your current stressors and why having therapy now, medical history, sleep, appetite. For example learning childhood and what was it like to grow up in your family can give an insight into the person that you are today. Other questions are about relationships, work, goals for therapy, what are you looking for in a therapist so that I know how to best work with you.

I use this information to help me decide the most effective ways for your presentation. For people who experience suicidal thoughts, or self harm it is crucial to know this from the start in order to provide an appropriate level of care from the beginning.

You drive the therapy session I am just a guide to orientate you around the structure and the process of therapy so that you can gain a better understanding of yourself and how you relate to others, etc . Sessions are 55-60 minutes
