About me and my therapy practice
If you are finding life a struggle at the moment or have an issue that you are finding difficult to deal with then I can help.
My name is Pauline and I am a qualified counsellor and accredited member of the BACP. I offer caring, non-judgmental and confidential counselling
Are you struggling with a difficult situation or relationship in your life ?
Have you experienced a loss, a bereavement or end of a relationship ?
Are you feeling anxious ?
I can help you make sense of what you are feeling and experiencing and gain a greater understanding of yourself and your relationships
I like to think of counselling as a safe and secure place where you are given an opportunity to talk to someone about how you really feel and explore the possibility of change.
We may know what is causing our problems: a difficult relationship, (past or present) loss of a loved one, anxiety, feeling overwhelmed or generally just feeling sad. Sometimes it’s that we just don't feel right inside.
I work with an integrative approach with a focus on the relationship between the client and counsellor, which I believe is fundamental to the success of therapy.
I can't always change your situation but I can help you change the way you feel about it
Practice description
I combine aspects of several models of therapy depending on the needs of each unique client. This includes CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) it can be useful to look at our relationship with our own thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. The aim of counselling is to help you talk about a problem and then work together to discover a solution that is right for you. I offer a flexible and thoughtful approach to each client’s therapy. What this means is that you have a safe space to talk, it may be about issues that are concerning you in your life now, or a difficult experience from the past.
My first session
I offer an initial session to explore your current concerns and expectations of counselling and I aim to answer any questions you may have, so you can then decide whether I am the right counsellor for you. There is no obligation to continue but if you decide to, I offer both short-term solution based therapy or longer term therapy.
