About me and my therapy practice
My initial training was using a person centred approach which is a humanistic approach that has its foundations in that given the right conditions a person can reach their full potential and become their true self. Following this I furthered my studies by introducing CBT which is the preferred method of the NHS and looks to help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave. I am trained to work with individuals (16+) and couples and welcome referrals from clients directly along with EAP, GPs, employers etc.
I have extensive experience of working with clients with a number of issues including depression, anxiety, relationship problems, trauma, self esteem, panic attacks, stress, bereavement, abuse and many others. I am also an Accredited Member of the Foundation for Infant Loss with a specialist area being sudden death of children and young people.
I am a fully qualified and insured Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor along with being a member of the BACP (Registration No. 088994) and NCPS (Membership No: NCS23-03781) and DBS checked providing sessions to both couples and individuals aged 16+. Along with my private practice I am an Associate Counsellor/Psychotherapist with MIND, 2 Wish (Child/Young Person Bereavement Charity), #4Tom and The Relationship Practice (London based practice). I also provide group counselling sessions for organisations and educational institutions and run monthly support groups along with workshops promoting mental health and teaching a counselling course at a local college.
Practice description
Attending counselling for the first time can be a daunting prospect, you may fear that you may be seen as weak or unable to cope or may just not know what to expect. Here at Little Bird Talking Therapy we hope to allay these fears and provide you with a safe environment where you will be valued and accepted without fear of being judged.
Counselling provides you with the space to reflect on your situation with someone who is not personally involved and who does not judge or criticise; giving you the opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings and in doing so find solutions that you are comfortable with.
I am able to provide face to face, online (video/email/IM Chat) and telephone counselling on a short or long term basis with each session being tailored to meet your individual needs. I have undertaken specific training to deliver online counselling and can provide a combination of both face to face and online/telephone sessions if needed.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Supervisor having obtained a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) from the University of South Wales. I offer collaborative supervision to support and strengthen your work with clients whilst helping to resolve any problems that may occur by providing you with a safe environment where you feel able to challenge your own practice and seek alternative ways of working. I believe that ensuring my supervisees are working ethically whilst being nurtured and feeling supported is of the utmost importance and I value feedback as to how we can work together to ensure that each supervisee does not feel alone in what can be isolating work.
I encourage my supervisees to try something new and will provide information and resources where needed whilst keeping supervisees aware of any CPD opportunities. I offer both individual and group supervision to anyone within the helping profession. I work with private clients including trainee counsellors and also have contracts with several organisations providing supervision to their employees and volunteers.
I work in an integrative way drawing upon my core training of person centred and CBT whilst implementing further skills and approaches to provide an altogether holistic approach. My supervision training was using the Seven Eyed Model, ??? and Proctor's approach which I relay within our supervision sessions as appropriate.
