About me and my therapy practice
Loss is the cause of much, if not all the grief, anxiety, and depression we experience in our life. I can help guide you through the trauma arising from loss and help you find contentment and peace of mind. I specialise in human bereavement and have helped many people relocate the pain of loss.
I have my own counselling practice, Nexus Therapy, and I am a fully insured and qualified gestalt counsellor with 15 years’ experience; registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I work with individuals, couples, families, and children and young people. I specialise in human bereavement and, also, have a wealth of experience in working with addictions, phobias, disordered eating, and neurosis. I have a reputation, within the local community of counsellors, of being dedicated, empathic, and compassionate. I am dedicated to helping people find emotional stability through counselling.
Additionally, I am the senior complex needs counsellor, within the trauma pathway, contracted to the Solent NHS Trust Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) West; where I work with children and young people between the ages of 5 -18 years, some of whom have autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) and many of whom have been affected by adverse childhood experiences (ACE’s)/ early developmental trauma (EDT).
Practice description
I am a gestalt counsellor and offer this humanistic approach to counselling which focuses on our individual patterns and behaviours allowing for natural change and growth. Our work together would focus on our individual experience of life and how we relate to others and our environment. It focuses on the here-and-now and aims to raise personal awareness thus making it easier to recognize and understand habitual patterns/behaviours (gestalts). Once this process has begun you can begin to replace outdated patterns of behaviour with new ones that are fit for purpose.
My counselling room, located in Carlton Crescent, Southampton, is safe and secure and provides a confidential environment for you to express yourself freely and openly in any way you feel comfortable, about any issues you have to deal with, without fear of judgement.
My first session
I offer face to face sessions at my private counselling practice in Southampton city centre. I also offer online sessions and home visits. Sessions take about an hour and are charged at £55.
