About me and my therapy practice
Hi, welcome to my profile. I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor. I have 15 years experience which has included working for a mental health charity, working in schools and also private practice.
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming and trying to work through issues alone can be daunting. Perhaps you are experiencing anxiety, stress, depression or low self esteem. It could be that you are experiencing grief, relationship issues or other life events that you are struggling to cope with. Sometimes you just want to be listened to and felt heard.
I work in an integrative way as everyone’s experience of life is unique. I will tailor the counselling sessions to meet your needs. This can include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which focuses on how our thoughts, beliefs and attitudes can affect our feelings and behaviours, as well as Person Centred Therapy which is a non-directive approach where i will be there as a guide and support for you. I also work in a Solution-Focused way, working together to create solutions to move forward.

I am a warm, calm and friendly counsellor who works in a safe, ethical and confidential way. I am here to work with you to identify the main issues you are experiencing and help you to navigate through these issues.

My first session
The aim of the first session is to find out the presenting issues that have brought you to contact me and to find out more about you. We will discuss what you would initially like to work on. I will ask questions to find out more about your current situation. We will complete an assessment together. You will be able to ask me any questions you have about therapy, how i work etc.
It is important to find the right counsellor for you. Having the right connection with your counsellor will enable you to speak freely when you want to, a feeling that you are in a safe space where you feel listened to, secure and a feeling of not being judged.
After this initial session, if you feel you would like to go ahead with a counselling session we can get this booked in.
