About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative, trauma-informed psychotherapist, which means I am trained in a range of different therapeutic techniques. My approach to therapy is non-prescriptive and informed by each client’s individual needs. The work we do may include elements drawn from the psychodynamic, humanistic, existential and transpersonal. Other elements may include mindfulness and Sensorimotor based approaches.
Beyond therapeutic techniques, I believe the relationship we build together is key to the success of the therapy. I offer a safe and non-judgemental space for you to explore the mental blocks or emotional problems that are keeping you stuck or affecting your ability to meet your potential. I work with warmth, compassion and connection to help you attain insight into your personal issues and gain the ability to move forward.
Practice description
I have a keen interest in the connection between mind and body and I have taken advanced training in Sensorimotor psychotherapy, a method which brings neurological understanding as well as the body’s own innate intelligence to inform and aid the process of therapy.
This approach can be particular helpful for clients with trauma or attachment issues or simply for those who feel stuck in negative thinking and anxiety or a persistent sense of overwhelm. Working with the body can actually help us calm and regulate our thoughts and is a very useful addition to talking therapy, if one wishes to connect with their felt sense and inner world, as well as their mental processes and habitual patterns of thinking.
I am 12 step literate and I work with addictive issues and compulsive behaviours, as well as underlying issues such as depression, trauma and childhood abandonment and neglect. I also work with codependency and relationship issues, anger management, low self-esteem, work related stress and anxiety, bereavement & loss and life transitions.
My first session
I charge £85 for initial consultation and £100-£120 for weekly therapy, which we would agree after consultation. On occasion, I may be able to offer a concession on my weekly fee for online therapy. Please contact me for further information.
