About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced Person-Centred Counsellor, having been qualified for over 14 years and a supervisor for 6 years. I am the Counselling Coordinator in a Charity supporting women and girls. I am counselling women and young people around the diversity of issues they bring. My background is also in education in a supportive role, where I have 24 years' experience working with SEND, especially ADHD, ASC, learning and physical disability, emotional and behavioural issues.
I have studied ecology and conservation and I am a great advocate for the power of working with nature as a healing environment and the positive impacts on well-being. I have worked with women on an allotment project for over 10 years as a therapeutic way of working side by side in an outdoor environment that often suits a person better than working in a counselling room.
I have recently undertaken training to use creative approaches in my therapeutic work and can integrate these particularly when working with nature based therapy.
Working from a humanistic approach reflects my belief in respecting and valuing everyone as an individual with autonomy and the ability to develop themselves to reach their potential. My work often involves building up self-esteem and confidence so that you can make your own choices for your next steps. As a counsellor I will aim to build a therapeutic, trusting relationship with you so that you will be able to explore your feelings and experiences in a safe, confidential space.

About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced BACP Accredited Person-Centred Counsellor, having been qualified for 14 years and a supervisor for 6 years. I am the Counselling Coordinator for a Charity supporting women and girls. I am counselling women and young people around the diversity of issues they bring. My background is also in education in a supportive role, where I have 24 years experience working with SEND, especially ADHD, ASC, learning and physical disability and young people with social, emotional and behavioural issues.
As a supervisor I aim to support you to work ethically within the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice & with a focus on professional development, working with your skills and strengths. I aim to provide a safe environment for you to explore your practice and client work and will encourage you to work creatively, to reflect and focus on themes and issues raised within counselling sessions.
I wish you to feel supported and so we will look at self-care and your well-being. You will be able to explore any personal issues that may be a barrier to you working with clients or how they may impact on your practice. In the same way that a goal of counselling can be said to empower the client, through supervision I hope you will be empowered and grow in confidence and competence.
I will aim to support you to become that trustworthy, calm and grounded professional, who can ‘hold’ and be alongside their clients while they express their feelings and experiences.
