About me and my therapy practice
Our journeys through life shape us like a lump of clay and some of those experiences can leave thumb prints behind. In therapy it is my aim to support you to explore the things that have shaped you, so you can then decide how to shape your future.
I have 20 years’ experience of working with people to make change in their lives, supporting people with a range of issues including:
Depression, grief, relationships issues, life changes and adjustment, anxiety, stress, exploring how past experiences impact the present and those who feel lost and want support to take their next step.
Practice description
As an experienced therapist and an accredited member of the BACP and IPT UK I have developed two main ways of working, underpinned by different theories and training, to be able to offer a variety of support that can be tailored to suit you.
Counselling
Every client who walks through the door is different, what works for one person might not work for another. As an integrative therapist, I can choose the right approach for you. I focus on you as an individual and use elements of different approaches to help you explore your problems.
In integrative counselling we work together in a creative manner to find understanding and techniques that work for you. The flexibility of this approach can have many benefits because it’s so personalised, helping with emotional wellbeing and mental health, enabling people to live life to their full potential.
IPT
IPT is a structured therapy, taking place over 16 sessions focussing on major changes in your life, bereavements, problems in a specific relationship or if you want to explore your connections with others.
Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) is a therapy that aims to help you recover from depression. It focuses on the link between depression and your relationships with others, helping you in identifying and addressing problems in your relationships.
IPT is very much a “doing” therapy and requires you to take an active role in your recovery and is an evidence based therapy recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).
When we first meet I will listen to what you bring and guide you to choose the approach that will work best for you. Whatever approach we take for your support, you have taken the first step. Contact me to arrange an initial chat.

I currently work in private practice on Mondays and Tuesdays and am happy to discuss flexibility across those days to support your supervisory needs.
About me and my therapy practice
As an integrative therapist, trained in the Clarksonian model, I believe that the relationships we build are the heart of therapy and also take this approach in developing my supervisory relationships.
I am an experienced practitioner and supervisor, having completed supervision courses within NHS IAPT services, as well as being an accredited supervisor in IPT (Interpersonal Psychotherapy for depression). I have supervised a diverse range of therapists from different theoretical orientations and am happy to tailor supervision to suit your needs.
As a practitioner and supervisor I have worked as a therapist in the NHS for nearly 10 years, as well as working with EAPs and charities. I have also worked in allied fields offering mental health and wellbeing support within local education providers and councils.
Please contact me to set up an initial free chat so we can get to know each other and to see how I can support you.
