About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced, BACP accredited counsellor, supervisor and coach and have been working with individuals and couples in North Bristol for over 10 years. As an integrative therapist, I am able to bring together a number of different approaches and tailor them to meet your individual needs.
Counselling with me offers a safe, neutral and confidential space where you can talk openly about your thoughts and feelings, without fear of judgement or criticism. Clients I work with regularly comment on how helpful it is to talk to someone outside their usual circles and of the release they feel in talking to me as a trained professional, who listens and helps them to explore things in a way they haven’t done before. My aim is to work with you to help you understand yourself and your relationships better and with this enhanced understanding, find new perspectives and a clearer way forward.
As well as running a private practice, I have worked in NHS Primary care, university counselling and local counselling agencies. Some of the specific issues I have worked with include depression, anxiety, stress, lack of confidence and low self esteem, struggles with personal identity, abuse, trauma, loss, bereavement, relationship difficulties, work and family issues, long term health conditions, parenting, life transitions and pregnancy related issues and loss. Whatever, you bring, I offer professional support to promote your emotional wellbeing.
My first session
Our first session is an opportunity for us to meet, for me to tell you about counselling and how I work and for you to tell me about yourself and what has prompted you to get in touch. At the end of that, if we both decide that further sessions will be helpful and provide you with the right support, we can meet weekly for as long as feel you need.
