I am a warm and friendly BACP Accredited Counsellor and Supervisor with over 18 years extensive experience in private practice, schools, universities, and the voluntary sector
I work with Adults, Students and Young people 13+
Support that makes a difference.
I qualified as a counsellor in 2006 from York St John University. I have completed many hours of additional training and CPD including, Neurodivergence, Safeguarding and Trauma Informed Practice.
For me, the heart of counselling is a good relationship between client and counsellor. This helps to create a safe and respectful setting for exploration, reflection and understanding of what is important to you.

I am an integrative counsellor drawing on a range of skills to best help you, depending on the issues you bring to counselling
In addition to working with adults I have many years’ experience working with students and young people 13+. I am a member of the BACP School & College Expert Reference Group, and I am very aware of the issues young people face including anxiety, stress, bereavement, identify & difficulties within family circumstances
Additionally, I am a neuroaffirmative counsellor. I have considerable training and experience of working with people who have an assessment or self-diagnosis of ADHD & Autism and are struggling with mental health conditions. I have delivered training, recorded podcasts, and written blogs about working with neurodivergent clients.

I am an Accredited member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work in accordance with their Ethical Framework which includes having regular supervision with a qualified supervisor. I am fully insured and have an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

My work is always underpinned by building a trusting, warm, empathic and confidential relationship with my clients.
Experience has shown me that what my clients value above all is having someone to listen to and understand them enabling them to make beneficial changes or help to accept difficult situations.
You might be struggling with challenges that are currently present in your life, or maybe things have happened in the past that remain unresolved and are causing you problems.
Being able to talk these through in a confidential and non-judgemental setting can be hugely beneficial and provide relief enabling you to get on with your life.
