About me and my therapy practice

I am a BACP and NCPS Senior Accredited Counsellor offering short and long term counselling to support people to make the changes they want in their lives.

I offer a warm, non judgmental, empathic approach. Are you feeling anxious or depressed? Having problems with your relationships? Experiencing a difficult time in your life such as separation, divorce, peri menopause, menopause or struggling with negative thoughts about yourself? We can work together, at your own pace to think about how you can deal with the issues you are facing in a different way and help you to understand what is happening, why it is happening and the changes you could make. I work primarily using transactional analysis which is one of the most accessible types of counselling, offering a space to promote personal growth and change. You can read more about transactional analysis here: https://www.counselling-directory.org.uk/transactional-analysis.html.

Practice description

I have over 15 years of experience in a range of areas. My background is working in mental health settings. I work with people who are experiencing anxiety, anger, depression, stress, low self-esteem, separation and divorce, behavioural problems, relationship difficulties, employment issues.

I also work with couples having problems with relationships.

Menopause, infertility, mens mental health and neurodivergence are a speciality of mine.

I am registered with Bupa, Axa, Aviva and Vitality health insurance. Please enquire for details.

My first session

I welcome you to contact me via email. I offer a free 30 minute initial zoom session, this allows us to discuss in a little more detail what you hope to gain from counselling and helps to clarify whether you feel I'm the right counsellor for you - vital for building a trusting relationship. If we decide to work together we will then find a convenient slot to begin (this doesn't have to be the same time or day each week).

There is no commitment or obligation to continue past the first call if you don’t wish to. If you would like to engage in sessions we will arrange to meet weekly at a time convenient to you.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a TA Counselling supervisor (PTSTA (C) and am passionate about the TA counselling field. I choose a cognitive, creative, systemic approach to my supervision. My frame of reference is firmly based in wellness rather than pathology. I offer both group and individual supervision.

One of the models I use is the seven-eyed supervision model (Hawkins & Shohet, 1985) The model is relational because it focuses on the relationships between client, therapist and supervisor, and systemic because it focuses on the interplay between each relationship and their context within the wider system. The model is called “seven eyed” because it focuses on seven distinct aspects of the therapeutic process.

In group supervision this model allows everyone to take part in the supervision process either presenting a client, or participating by observing from one of the seven eyes.
