About me and my therapy practice
I have over 30 years experience of Counselling a wide range of clients from a variety of backgrounds, beliefs and values, and who present with different issues and concerns. For 30 years I worked as a Counselling Psychologist for the NHS, where I worked within a multi-disciplinary team for a CAMHS service. (Child and Adult Mental Health Service), until I retired in December 2020. My clients were a very wide range of children aged 5 to 18 years of age and their families/careers, who presented with a range of difficulties and some had a medical diagnoses, such as depression and/or anxiety.
I am interested to work in my Private Practice with adults from the age of 18. I am also interested to work with any person who is concerned about a child or young person under the age of 18, (but not with a child under 18).
My training and experience includes Attachment Theory, having studied this part-time for 7 years; looking at how our early life/family background/the parenting we received, shapes the person we become, and how we parent our own children. Looking at this more closely can enable us to make changes, rather than repeat patterns from our own past.
Practice description
I offer weekly, fortnightly or monthly sessions to fit in with a client’s life, and prefer to make a contract of 6 sessions, then review, and discuss if the client considers the way we are working is helpful and suitable for their needs.
I ask for 24 hours notice to cancel or re-schedule a session, and do not charge. However, given the difficulties of Covid and the need to regularly test and possibly self-isolate, I understand if a client needs to cancel at short notice because of illness/self-isolation.

About me and my therapy practice
I have worked as a Counsellor and Counselling Psychologist for the NHS, a local charity, and in Private Practice for over 30 years and also as a Supervisor in the same settings for 25 years. I work in an Eclectic way, calling on theory and practice from the Humanistic, CBT and Psychodynamic traditions. I have a particular interest in Attachment Theory, which I studied part-time for 7 years.
Practice description
I offer supervision sessions for an hour or more, per week, fortnight or month, depending on the needs of the Supervisee. Some counsellors prefer to arrange 1.5 hours supervision per month, to meet BACP requirements, so I offer this for a reduced fee of £60.
