About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Katie. I’m an Integrative counsellor based in Alvechurch, South Birmingham. I draw on many counselling models including Person-centred, Cognitive Behavioural & Solution- focused. I have been a Counsellor for over 20 years (I qualified in 2003) and have worked in a variety of settings. I also work as a School Counsellor in a secondary school & sixth form counselling students & staff. I’m a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).
Practice description
I understand that seeking counselling can be a daunting experience! I am warm, empathic, non judgmental & always accepting of you & your situation.
I will provide a safe & confidential space for you to explore & express what is happening in your life & to consider your choices. Counselling can help you gain a greater understanding and acceptance of yourself & your circumstances.
You will be at the centre of every session. We can explore ways together to increase your confidence & self-esteem & enable you to live in a more satisfying & resourceful way.
I will tailor the counselling to suit your individual needs & concerns.
I also provide a 5-week Stress Management Course (£30 per session) that can help you understand & identify the factors that are contributing to your stress & explore practical techniques to help you cope with stress more effectively.
My first session
I provide a free 20-minute telephone consultation to gain an understanding of your circumstances and needs. If we feel we can both work together to help and support you, we will then arrange our first appointment together.
I counsel young people too so I can offer 2 separate free telephone consultations (1 for parent/carer & 1 for child) if necessary.
The village of Alvechurch is easily accessible by M42 and has a local train station and bus stops.
