About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor with over 12 years experience and registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the national regulatory body for counsellors and psychotherapists. I comply with the BACP Ethical Framework offering a warm, supportive confidential service for individuals.
I am a qualified Integrative and Eclectic Counsellor and Supervisor working with individuals, couples, groups, students and qualified counsellors privately and within organisations.
Is Counselling for you?
Each person responds to the events that happen in their lives differently. Your issue, what you would like to bring to therapy is the starting point for our work together. Talking with a therapist can help you understand how to manage difficult feelings, problems, conflict and distress. A way of exploring and untangling thoughts and feelings. It can help you to move on with your life in a more fulfilling way. Anger management, bereavement, anxiety, depression, relationships issues, divorce, eating patterns, child related issues and addiction are just some of the reasons for seeking therapy. You might not feel there is a specific issue, just an uneasiness and a desire to think about that.
Realizing that things are difficult is the first step and you may be wondering if therapy can help. An initial session can help you see if it feels right for you at this time.
Practice description
How counselling can help
My Integrative-approach draws particularly upon person-centered, cognitive behavioural therapy and psychodynamic therapy.
We cannot change the past events in our lives but we can choose how we think about them and how they affect our current being. I believe we all have the ability to change and grow. Therapy is a safe space to bring issues and to think about things that maybe troubling. How much you wish to say is your choice.
What is available
Short or long-term options are available lasting 50 minutes per session. If the problem is specific, a few sessions may be all you want (6 - 12) You might like to work in a more open ended way - taking time to explore your world and perhaps thinking about the meaning of your life and your experiences. Maybe the issues you are facing have been with you for some time and you wish for a space to consider them - without knowing how long it will take.
Please contact me by phone or by email, I am happy to talk about what you are looking for and to arrange a first session.
I have experience of clients in a variety of settings including the NHS, HMP, Primary and Secondary schools, the voluntary sector and private practice.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Integrative Supervisor working with students and qualified counsellors. I offer face to face or work remotely to suit the superviseePractice description
I offer a supportive and stimulating supervision where counsellors and students can explore and reflect on themselves and their practice. Supervision should be a space to offload confidentially, a place where the supervisee is allowed to grow and be challenged. As a supervisor my aim is to help supervisees feel supported, enriched, resourced and restored. Key to this is developing their own reflective practice based on the key tenets of the BACP ethical framework.
I am mindful that each supervisee is at a distinct level of learning so it is of paramount importance that I utilise the working alliance and deliver an appropriate platform for supervisees to engage in the various stages of formative, normative and restorative themes to enhance their counselling practice and build confidence.
