About me and my therapy practice
Life presents a multitude of challenges, both external and internal. External factors like bereavement, work pressures, stress, and health issues significantly impact our well-being. Internally, our cognitive patterns and thought processes can hinder effective coping.
Despite these difficulties, I firmly believe in individuals' capacity to grow, heal, and make positive changes in their lives.
Counselling provides a collaborative process where we explore your concerns. As your counsellor, I offer an additional perspective and support throughout helping you navigate your world with clarity and understanding.
I provide a warm, safe and confidential space where you can discuss your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment.
With over 10 years of experience as an Integrative Counsellor and registration with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, I can assist you in your journey.
My experience spans working in bereavement agencies, several secondary and primary schools, and with a UK police force, allowing me to tailor my approach to meet your unique needs.
I am trained and experienced in various counselling styles which I adapt based on your specific needs:
Humanistic/Person-Centred Therapy: Focuses on the 'here and now', helping you explore your own issues, feelings, beliefs, and behaviours to foster self-awareness and self-acceptance.
Psychodynamic Therapy: Explores past experiences and their impact on current thoughts, behaviours, and relationships.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): Addresses how thoughts and behaviours influence feelings, identifying and challenging negative patterns to promote positive change and develop coping skills.
Mindfulness-Based Approaches: Incorporates mindfulness techniques to enhance self-awareness, reduce stress, and improve overall well-being.
Together, we can work towards a more fulfilling and balanced life, addressing your challenges with compassion and understanding.
