About me and my therapy practice

Maybe you are a parent and wanting to know how your own attachment affects the way you relate and bond with your child/children/partner. Or perhaps you would like to learn more about yourself, gain more resilience and empower yourself. I offer long term and short term therapy to children, young people and adults.

I have a BSc Hons Psychology and Counselling and Foundation Degree in person centred Counselling.

I have over 10 years of experience working with children, young people, parents/families and adults (within CAMHS services) and domestic violence and rape crisis services. I have undertaken Dyadic Development Practice (DDP) Training that is essentially a way of working with developmental trauma and attachment.

I am an accredited member of BACP and my work is informed by elements of DDP Level 1 and Level 2 training.

Practice description

I won’t give you advice but I will offer a space that is safe, non-judgemental and filled with humour at times. I have trained as a play therapist and use a range of creativity in my approach when working with children, young people and families.

Our collaborative relationship is essential for the success of our work together. Your motivation and willingness to participate in counselling are greatly appreciated. I also focus on exploring how past relationships may be influencing your present circumstances in order to help you gain a clearer understanding of your current situation.

Throughout my career, I have worked with people from a diverse range of backgrounds, cultures and experiences. Coming from a different background and culture myself, I do have a passion for working with diversity. My hope is that no matter who you are or where you come from we can work together on getting to know you and help you achieve your therapeutic goals.

My first session

We will usually meet weekly for 50 minutes. We can discuss flexibility in our initial chat if that is needed.

This time is dedicated to discussing whatever is important to you. In our initial session, we can explore any goals or desired outcomes you have for therapy. I have experience of working with clients on both short-term and long-term basis, and we can determine together what approach would be most beneficial for you right now. I am flexible in my approach and open to adjusting based on your needs as we progress in our work together.

Get in touch and send me an email. We can arrange an initial session to discuss your difficulties. Following this, if you would like to start working together we can agree a day and time to meet regularly. If you do require any reasonable adjustments to access our sessions, please do let me know when we meet.
