About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP accredited counsellor & have worked in mental health for over 15 years and for the last 12 years I have worked as a counsellor in the NHS and in private practice.
I have helped clients work through many different issues over the years and can help with issues such as: anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship problems, anger, sexual abuse, work stress, career problems, domestic abuse, long-term health issues, sexual problems & family issues. There aren’t many things I’ve not come across over the years so get in touch and I can see if I can help.
I also offer couples counselling either face to face or online. Having problems in your relationship can be a difficult and painful experience. I offer clients a space to discuss their relationship in a safe and supportive environment. Clients come to couples therapy for lots of different reasons and no couple are the same. I work with clients to look at ways they can enhance their relationship and to work through any issues they might be having. If you are unsure if couples therapy is for you, or if you have any questions then please just get in touch.
I provide both short term and long-term therapy, face to face in Lincoln or online or via telephone.
I work with people of all ages and all backgrounds. I work with adults over the age of 18 and specialize in men’s mental health.
Practice description
My approach to counselling is integrative which means I draw upon different theoretical models, rather than focusing rigidly on one. This enables me to tailor therapy to suit each client’s specific, individual needs. Core to my way of working is the person-centred/ humanistic approach which involves working in an empathic, non-judgemental and genuine way with people. I also use elements of psychodynamic therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) in the work I do with clients. Psychodynamic therapy focuses on our unconscious, where I help clients explore more deep-rooted issues. The CBT approach looks at changing the way we think about things and our behaviour. What’s most important to me is that you get the therapy that’s right for you, so I actively discuss with clients what they want from therapy and the best way we can work together.

My first session
It can often feel daunting starting therapy, especially if this is your first experience of anything like this. Having had therapy myself I can identify with these feelings too.
I offer a 15-20min free consultation where I will ask you some information about your mental health and what you would like some help with. There will be no pressure to talk about things you don't want to discuss, we will work together in formulating how therapy with myself might help you best.
Also, please be rest assured there will be no pressure to make further appointments.
