What I Offer:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): If you're dealing with stress, anxiety, or feeling overwhelmed, CBT can help you identify and change negative thought patterns. We’ll work together on practical strategies that empower you to tackle challenges head-on and improve your overall well-being.
Person-Centered Therapy: This approach focuses on you as an individual. In a relaxed and confidential setting, you can share your experiences and feelings openly. My aim is to help you recognize your strengths, build confidence, and find clarity in your life.
What is Schema Therapy?
Schema Therapy is a type of therapy that helps you understand and change deep-seated patterns in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors—called "schemas." These schemas are like lenses through which you view the world and can develop from early life experiences.
Think of it this way:
Schemas are like maps. Just as a map guides you on your journey, schemas influence how you see yourself and relate to others. Some maps might lead you to positive experiences, while others might take you down a more difficult path.
Why Choose Schema Therapy?
Schema Therapy is especially helpful for those who feel stuck in long-term patterns or struggle with relationships and self-esteem. It offers a deeper understanding of yourself and provides tools for lasting change.
My first session
Welcome! I am glad you’re here. Your first session is an important step in your journey, and we want to make it as comfortable and informative as possible.
What Happens in the First Session?
1. Getting to Know You: We’ll start by chatting about you—your background, what brings you to therapy, and any specific challenges you’re facing. This helps us understand your unique situation.
2. Understanding CBT: We’ll explain how Cognitive Behavioral Therapy works. In short, CBT focuses on the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We’ll explore how your thoughts may influence your emotions and actions, and how changing those thoughts can lead to positive changes in your life.
3. Setting Goals: Together, we’ll identify your goals for therapy. What do you hope to achieve? Whether it’s managing anxiety, reducing stress, or improving relationships, we’ll work to set clear, achievable objectives.
4. Creating a Safe Space: This is a judgment-free zone. You can share your thoughts and feelings openly, and I will listen with care and respect. Your comfort and trust are my priority.
5. Next Steps: I will discuss what to expect in future sessions and how we’ll work together. CBT often involves homework or exercises to practice between sessions, which helps reinforce what you learn.
Remember: It’s perfectly normal to feel a bit nervous during your first session. Take your time—there’s no rush. We’re here to support you every step of the way.
If you have any questions or concerns before your session, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We look forward to working together!
