About me and my therapy practice
Would you like to feel differently about your life, or at least how you approach the challenges you face? My approach to Adlerian Counselling supports you to recognise and understand the origins of your own behaviour – why you do what you do. Adlerians believe that there is a purpose to all behaviour, and I can encourage and help you to gain insight and try new ways of being to ultimately achieve the changes you seek to achieve. Please note, I work with adults aged 18 and over.
I am trained in Adlerian Counselling and Psychotherapy completing my diploma in 2010.
Additionally, as from September 2024, I am undertaking EMDR Europe approved training and therefore able to offer Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing in addition to the standard talking therapy.
I obtained a Degree in Human Biology (BSc Hons) in 1992 and a Diploma in Social Work in 1994, and have extensive experience built up from working in the social care field for over 35 years, and more latterly in palliative care and bereavement counselling. Additionally I have undertaken diploma training and work as an End of Life Doula.
I am an accredited member of BACP, a member of EoLD UK and registered with SWE, and abide by their ethical frameworks. For more information visit my website – www.spaceintime.co.uk
Practice description
Before booking an initial assessment appointment, I offer a free telephone consultation to address any initial questions you may have and discuss if my way of working may be what you are looking for.
My first session
During your initial (assessment) appointment we gather a holistic picture of your life and support systems, in addition to considering your goals. We also identify an initial task to work on between appointments - this is a theme that is repeated throughout the counselling, to promote the 'action' needed to enable the 'change' to take place.
