About me and my therapy practice
I have had ten years' experience in the NHS and the voluntary sector, and have been in private practice since 2013. During that time I have worked with people who have felt depression; anxiety; deep unhappiness; overwhelming anger or fear; the pain of bereavement; or the trauma of having been physically or sexually abused. I have also worked with people who have felt at the mercy of seemingly inexplicable behaviours and feelings, such as compulsive repetitive rituals, or panic attacks.
I offer a safe and confidential therapeutic relationship, in which we think together and explore the more hidden meanings at the root of what may be frightening or confusing states of mind or behaviour. This is done at your pace. The hidden meanings become clearer through exploration of feelings, family history, dreams, and our relationship together. When meanings are more clearly understood, this helps to bring about relief, healing, and lasting change.
