Practice description

My Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy, with a specialism in recovery from PTSD and abuse came from working with many women recovering from toxic relationships, sexual abuse & assault, addictions, self-harm and divorce or break up. I have a specialist interest in empowering, enabling and equipping women in finding their inner resilience.

Whilst supporting clients using person centred models, my own personal integrative philosophy also embraces attachment theory, creative methods of therapy, existential therapy, especially finding meaning through suffering (logotherapy) and identifying paths to recovery through narrative methods.

‘I have been on an amazing journey over the past year. Juliette has helped me understand through our sessions, in a safe environment, what damage is caused to us growing up as vulnerable children. Through understanding trauma I have healed in my body & mind’. Anita, 54, Watford

'In a few short weeks Juliette has been able to understand me, allowed me to look into my numerous issues and helped me in the process of unravelling these. Juliette’s skillful approach is gentle but focused with useful practical help, where appropriate. She truly listens and hears me’. Fiona, 35, Northwood

'Juliette is one person with whom I feel completely safe to be able to explore my deep truths with and I am truly blessed to have such an intelligent, well read counsellor who has surpassed all my expectations and helped me progress rapidly in many areas towards healing and wellness’. Sarah, 32, Chorleywood

About me and my therapy practice

A warm welcome to my profile. I am BACP (Senior Accredited), I have a Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy and a Diploma in Individual and Group Supervision. I have thousands of hours of clinical practice working with clients and as a supervisor. I specialise in PTSD and abuse recovery, and have worked with many individuals and groups at Watford Women's Centre, in Herts, and Rape Crisis (now RSASS), in South Bucks.

I taught Counselling Level Six, University of Middlesex, as a course tutor for two years and now lead courses on recovery from trauma, mindfulness, bereavement recovery, recovery from cancer diagnosis and have a specialist interest in empowering, enabling and equipping women in finding their inner resilience and journeying alongside them in the path to recovery.

Having trained in the seven eyed model of clinical supervision, I am experienced at supporting trainees, working alongside their placement and course provider to help each individual excel in academic work and reflective practice.

I have helped many supervisees successfully become accredited counsellors and set up in private practice, helping them through the process by breaking the process into manageable tasks.

I also support many experienced counsellors too and supervise supervision, to enhance already well developed professional practice.

Testimonial:

‘Having known Juliette for a number of years I was delighted when she agreed to us giving each other peer supervision. As a highly reflective practitioner Juliette is a joy to supervise and insightful as a supervisor. Her experience and calm presence create a safe environment in which we can explore those more tricky aspects of counselling and supervision.’

Testimonials:

'Juliette is such a helpful supervisor and I always leave our sessions feeling well-supported and better equipped for my client work. She has a wealth of knowledge on various therapeutic approaches and is frequently able to point me towards lots of valuable resources and learning materials to help me develop my clinical practice. Most importantly, she provides a very safe, caring, and empathic space for me to explore whatever I need to without any fear of judgement. I often enter supervision feeling a bit worn out from a busy caseload and without fail I leave our time together feeling enthused and encouraged once again. I would highly recommend her to anyone!’

‘I have found Juliette’s supervision incredibly insightful, supportive and stimulating as I learn and grow in my client work. She balances empathy and encouragement with gentle challenge and perceptive observations, all of which has built my confidence and enhanced my practice. In addition, she is exceptionally knowledgeable, drawing on her own counselling experiences to explore a variety of topics, and offering a wide range of reading material and tools, techniques and theories to integrate into client work. Supervision with Juliette is both energising and sustaining and I value her perspective and support hugely.’
