About me and my therapy practice
Your future depends on what you do in the present...........
Counselling offers you a safe, confidential, non-judgmental and caring space to explore issues, thoughts, emotions and feelings that have come about as a result of various life events. While we cannot change difficult situations of the past we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life.
My aim is to help you understand what may be going on in your life, look at what you might like to change and empower you to do so. Being heard, understood and valued by another person can help to unlock our potential to change and grow. It can feel good to be free of the burdens that you originally came in to counselling to address.
As an integrative counsellor I am able to tailor my approach drawing on different elements of specific therapies such as person-centred, psychodynamic and CBT. As all people are unique the therapy will be tailored to suit your personality and preferences.
Practice description
In my Sevenoaks practice I work with adults and young people. I am also the Lead Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor in educational settings with Kent Counselling for Schools (KCS) and in this role I work on a 1 -1 basis and with groups.
Previous experience includes NHS (GP practice), Family Matters (UK Charity for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse), Eden Counselling and Place2Be.
My key motivation as a counsellor is to see people thrive and live life to the full. I have an enduring hope in the capacity of human beings to change and heal.
Walk and Talk Therapy
Walk and talk therapy is something that I find to be very therapeutic with clients of all ages. Instead of sitting in front of your counsellor in a traditional therapy room, the counselling session takes place outdoors walking side by side.
It is counselling in motion, and it works because it is often more dynamic than a traditional indoor session. If you have felt stuck in therapy in the past, being physically active helps release some tensions and stimulates new thoughts and ideas. It is a metaphor for moving forward.

About me and my therapy practice
I hold a L6 Diploma in Supervision and my aim as a supervisor is work collaboratively to support your development and to help your practice grow.
As a creative integrative therapist working with a range clients from 5-80 years old I bring this experience to the supervision process.
In my private practice I offer supervision for therapists working with adults and/or young people. Individual or group supervision is available.
I have been supervising therapists working with children and young people at Kent Counselling for Schools for several years.
Practice description
Although my approach is based on an integrative model I work with practitioners trained in a range of theoretical models.
I use the seven-eyed model by Hawkins and Shohet, which brings a holistic view of the supervisory process from several angles. This includes the client/counsellor relationship, interventions, counsellor/supervisors relationship, wider context and more. The collaborative approach aims to ensure ethical and safe practice with your clients. Sessions explore how to gain the best in your own professional and client development.

Having been a therapist for many years I know first hand the importance of finding the right supervisor for your practice.
I would encourage you to have a phone conversation with any potential supervisor before an initial session.
