I can deliver in person or online counselling sessions, which enables me to work with clients both locally and UK wide via a secure online platform used by health professionals.
The first session will be an online appointment which includes a short assessment where I will ask a few questions about what has brought you to counselling and what your hopes are from it and you can tell me a little about yourself. It will be at your pace and there will be no pressure to disclose anything you do not wish to.
During that session, we will decide together if I am the best counsellor for you and should we then decide to proceed with further sessions, I can offer you either online or in person or a combination of the two; whichever works best for you.
The best way to contact me is via email and I aim to respond within 48 hours where possible.
I have daytime and early evening availability, generally on Tuesday and Thursday, early evenings on Wednesday and some Saturday mornings.
About me and my therapy practice
Hi I'm Lorraine and thank you for visiting my profile. You've taken the first step in seeking support, which is often the most difficult.
Do you feel overwhelmed or powerless about things beyond your control?
Are you off work due to stress or maybe workplace bullying is so toxic you feel unable to cope much longer?
If you’re struggling to manage work and life you’re not alone.
Many people find it challenging to juggle the demands of a job with a personal life, leading to burnout, anxiety, and frustration.
A lot of time is spent at work; often you spend more time with work colleagues and managers than with your family.
Work struggles can deeply affect home life and personal relationships making you feel miserable with nowhere to turn.
It doesn’t have to be work versus Life -
Achieving a healthy work-life balance isn’t just about managing your time; it’s about taking care of your mental and emotional well-being.
• Do you find it hard to disconnect from work and feel its taking over your life, with no time for yourself or loved ones?
• Perhaps you're feeling stressed or anxious or have a churning stomach when returning to work after the weekend.
• Are you struggling with time management/prioritization, or feeling overloaded; finding it hard to set boundaries with colleagues or supervisors.
• Maybe you’re worried about a work or personal relationship and you're fearful about what the future holds
• Or you’re experiencing difficult feelings and find it hard to talk to anyone about it.
Counselling can help you:
• Set clear boundaries at work so you have more time for your personal life.
• Manage stress effectively by learning how to incorporate practical techniques to reduce its impact on your daily life.
• Improve communication skills for better relationships with your boss, colleagues and loved ones.
• Enhance Resilience and build skills that help you to bounce back from life's challenges.
• Feel more confident in achieving what you want in your career and your personal relationships.
Practice description
During our sessions we will work together to explore your difficult feelings, to help find a better understanding of yourself; to begin to heal from past hurts and to find a way forward that is best for you. How I can support you:
With 20 plus experience as a workplace representative, and more than 12 years in private practice, I have a deep understanding of the challenges people face at work.
I’ve supported individuals dealing with everything from stress and long-term sickness to formal complaints and workplace bullying.
I know first-hand how work-related problems can erode confidence, strain personal relationships, and lead to sleepless nights filled with self-doubt.
As a counsellor, I draw on this extensive experience to offer a safe, confidential space where you can explore your concerns without judgment.
My goal is to help you feel more empowered and positive when facing life’s challenges.
I can help you find ways to navigate difficult situations, explore your options, and find solutions—whether that means re-entering the workplace with renewed confidence or considering alternatives.
Your well-being is important, and together, we can create a path toward a more fulfilling and balanced life.
Life and our emotions can feel very overwhelming at times and talking to someone can really help.
You may feel you’re too busy for therapy, but often it is the times when you feel too busy that you most need to take some time to step off the hamster wheel for a moment and to seek some support for yourself.
By acting now before it’s too late you can avoid burnout, increase your wellbeing and happiness and improve your relationships both at work and in your personal life.
I am an Accredited member of the BACP. I ensure I also keep my continued professional development up to date to meet the needs of my clients, ensuring I work with you to achieve the best possible outcomes.
If you're ready to address your work stress and restore balance to your life, I invite you to get in touch.
