Online Specialised Eating Disorder Therapist for Neurodiverse Adults and Teens

Are you or a loved one struggling with an eating disorder and the added challenges of neurodiversity, such as ADHD or autism? I offer online therapy tailored to the unique needs of neurodiverse individuals, both adults and teens, who are battling binge eating, anorexia, or emotional eating. Navigating an eating disorder can be overwhelming, especially when compounded by neurodiversity challenges such as hyperfixation, anxiety, and low self-esteem. From my personal experiences with binging to anorexia, I understand the fears, behaviours, and patterns that can feel too great to overcome. However, through my journey and training, I've gained insights and strategies that help you move forward.

In our sessions, I prioritise understanding your unique experiences and challenges, offering empathy, validation, and practical strategies to help you move forward. Together, we'll explore achievable steps tailored to your needs, supporting you in breaking free from the grips of your eating disorder and embracing a healthier relationship with food and yourself.

Practice description

Navigating Your First Counselling Session

Entering counselling for the first time can feel intimidating, but it's a brave step towards healing and growth. In our initial session, I prioritise creating a safe and comfortable space for neurodiverse individuals or those who are dealing with eating disorders. We need to establish a solid therapeutic relationship built on trust and understanding.

Building a therapeutic relationship

During our first session, we'll take the time to get to know each other. What brought you to therapy? Whether you are here for binge eating treatment or support for ADHD and emotional eating.I may ask you different questions to help me understand what's happening in your world as a therapist specialising in neurodiverse adults and teens. Identifying and understanding your support network is vital to our work together. We'll discuss the people in your life, from family and friends to other sources of support. Identifying your support system can provide valuable insights into your strengths and resources.

Exploring Your World

I'll ask what brings you joy and fulfilment and what challenges you may face, including issues like hyperfixation, anxiety or low self-esteem. Understanding what makes you happy and what's causing you to feel stuck can guide our journey.

Tailored Approach for Eating Disorder Assessment:

If you're coming for an Eating Disorder assessment, our session will be extended to two hours. This allows time to explore your experiences, concerns, and goals in greater depth, ensuring that a comprehensive, personalised approach helps Address binge eating, anorexia, or emotional eating with a bespoke personalised treatment plan.

Collaborative Process

Throughout our session, Your insights and experiences are integral to our work together. We'll explore your ADHD and disordered thoughts, feelings, and goals, collaboratively charting a path towards healing and growth.

Remember, counselling is a journey, and I'm here to support you
