About me and my therapy practice
My therapy practice
Sometimes painful memories, strong feelings and intrusive thoughts become too overwhelming to manage. When this happens, it is not unusual to feel anxious, panic-stricken, low in mood or just aware that something isn't right. You may be asking yourself "what's happening to me," and when there appears to be no answer, this can feel uncomfortable, destabilising and frightening; or you may feel that a specific event, such as a bereavement, the end of a relationship or a traumatic experience has made life feel more of a struggle and less enjoyable. Talking to someone about your issues takes courage and I offer a safe, confidential space to do this. You can talk openly about how you’re feeling and you will be heard without fear of being criticised or judged.
I have an honours degree in psychology, a postgraduate diploma in psychodynamic counselling and a masters degree in clinical psychotherapy. I am COSRT approved in relationship therapy and have extensive experience working in both the public and private sectors. I approach therapy from an integrative perspective because I believe no single modality is universally effective. In my view, combining therapeutic techniques offers a more fulfilling experience and can lead to a richer, more nuanced pathway to healing.
I work with adults (18+), couples and families, face to face at my practice or by Zoom.
About me
My interest in mental health & well-being comes largely from a rich tapestry of personal experience that eventually led to my pursuing a long-standing interest in psychotherapy and coaching for individuals, groups and organisations interested in both personal and professional development. The first twenty years of my career were spent as a professional musician, working internationally amongst a creative and diverse range of people. It was a fascinating period of my life that has enriched my psychotherapy and coaching practice.

My first session
In our first session you’ll have an opportunity to talk about your feelings, discuss your needs and get to know me and how I work. First sessions also allow practitioners to better understand their client's situation and to assess their suitability for working together. Whether therapy lasts a short time, or for a longer period, a good working relationship between therapist and client is imperative and you’re under no obligation to return after our first session. Please note I charge for all sessions.

About me and my therapy practice
My clinical supervision practice is rooted in the principles of psychodynamic theory, emphasising the exploration of unconscious processes, the therapeutic relationship and the dynamics that arise within the therapy session. My approach is collaborative and reflective, aiming to deepen your understanding of your clients and yourself as a therapist.
I work with trainees and qualified therapists.
