Hello, I’m Robin.
I understand that taking the first step towards counselling can be difficult, but the fact that you are reading this means you have reached the point where you feel ready to find a way forward.
Counselling provides a safe, supportive, confidential space to talk about any difficulties you may be facing. It gives you new ways to handle problems and helps you to understand your feelings and reactions.
During our sessions you will learn new skills to help you cope with challenges and regain lost confidence. Together we will foster your emotional well-being and empower you to navigate life’s challenges more effectively by developing a clearer perspective. Counselling can help you to move beyond that energy-sapping ‘stuck’ feeling and into a more positive future.
Through my years of working with people with a wide range of issues, I have learnt that there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution in counselling. I am experienced in identifying and applying the appropriate therapeutic tools and methods to help the individual person.
If you have any questions, please do get in touch; I am here to help you.
Ultimately, the only way to find out what counselling can do for you is to try it.
Practice description
I have my own counselling room near the centre of Bishop Auckland. Free parking is available behind the building and it is only a 5 minute walk from the railway station and a 10 minute walk from the bus station.
For online work I use Zoom and will send you a link before each session.
My first session
When you get in touch, I will invite you to an initial session which will be an opportunity for us to get to know each other a little and to identify what you are looking for from counselling Before we meet I will send you a questionnaire so that I have some basic information.
The counselling relationship is very important and this session will help us both to discover if I am the right person to help you and there will be no pressure either way.
If we decide to continue, further sessions will be arranged for as long as is helpful to you. We will regularly review our work and will end when you feel ready.
