About me and my therapy practice
Hi I'm Genovieve a Trauma Informed Psychotherapist fully Accredited with EMDR UK, working alongside AXA, Bupa, Family Courts, Police, Charities, Private Clients. I'm here to listen to you and give you the space to explore what's happening for you. I offer a compassionate, supported and mindful integration of skills and techniques to help to improve your wellbeing on a day to day level.
My strengths specialism over 16 years are in childhood and adult trauma/attachments, and how it can interrupt living a healthy happy life. Often, we are unaware that our issues may relate to trauma. I can help you to to safely process and resolve the aspects within yourself that block your capacity to feel well, happy and stable.
I offer individual therapy, couples, and WORKPLACE workshops/Training on Burnout, Trauma, Loss and Grief, and creative ways to explore what holds up back from feeling less than ourselves, searching for contentment in our current lives
Practice description
I use a EMDR Trauma Informed, CBT and Somatic Modalities to listen to what you bring that you are sourcing answers. I aim to Integrate select body psychology interventions into EMDR protocols for the treatment of trauma (as well as accessible experiential exercises and techniques). I personally feel the body is compassionate and has much wisdom on what it needs to heal, we learn to rediscover and find our inner balance and wellbeing again.
In sessions we will enrich the practice of EMDR by grounding and stabilisation first, introduce elements of creative embodied somatic interventions, along with CBT Trauma Focus, and Dialectal Behavioural Therapy or Clinical Hypnosis. If you are curious call and simply ask your questions Please! Until soon Genovieve
My first session
Your 1st session using EMDR, it’s crucial to have a consultation with a mental health professional who is Accredited and Experienced in other Trauma-Focused Therapies. Getting to know what the therapy fit is like and a full assessment of your needs, will help you determine if this style of Therapy is the most appropriate therapy for your specific situation. The therapist will consider various factors, such as your medical history, current symptoms, and personal preferences, to ensure that the chosen therapy aligns with your needs and goals. This professional guidance is essential in making an informed decision when considering EMDR and Trauma Focused Therapies.

About me and my therapy practice
ONLINE Psychotherapist, Supervisor, EMDR Trauma Psychotherapist/Somatic Therapist/Hypnotherapist. Working in Buckinghamshire Marlow, Wycombe 4 days a week and Kent Clinic, Rochester, Maidstone, Dartford 1 Days A Week.
Here's a Client Testimonial having received ZOOM-ONLINE therapy -(client Haley) https://youtu.be/xEtLeXNifwk
I am now very experienced in Trauma and Relational Psychotherapy, I am so passionate in another's hidden potential, removing limiting past memories and behaviours.
My proposition should you feel you are ready is to enter into therapy it's an encompassing at ease, impartial, compassionate, direct, sensitive and supportive environment; I am an open, wholehearted and sincere individual in which I accept that I am no more or no others less than each other. My clients and I work together and a ‘working piece of art’. I find this approach creates the best outcome for therapy – agreeing to trust, to naturally build, ensuring YOU can come knowing there’s nothing we can’t explore about self, even what might be undiscovered or unknown or difficult to name or about life; it will be without judgement and sense of courage, with me guiding YOU through what is a very personal journey.
So yes, Counselling/Psychotherapy can be hard at times however it is also the biggest investment, respectful and liberating moment you will own personally.
Here is a link from a client 'Fiona' and her testimonial on overcoming depression using EMDR, her thoughts of how therapy helped. https://youtu.be/LKnQ47DV0fE
Practice description
I remember when I first ever encountered psychotherapy, it was an unsettling feeling, scared that I might break down and embarrass myself; that's being totally honest! I felt vulnerable, with very little idea of what to expect. So... know you are not alone, and have some idea about how you are feeling right now.
I call myself a people's person, getting to know how and what your are thinking is essential, for you to feel 'GOT'; and for therapy to work, we 2 need to connect. The rest builds or re'builds as we do our session's.
Nothing will change if you fail to move towards change. It's your Choice or not?

In My Practice
All my clients receive the same care and commitment which has YOU assess after an initial discussion either by phone or face to face as to proceed. Our first session we get to ask each other questions; before we both decide if whether if feels right to carry on!
This initial meeting is an exploratory session which gives you the opportunity to tell me about your difficulties, for me to explain how I can help and after which you can decide if you think if psychotherapy/trauma therapy is helpful for you.
