About me and my therapy practice
Thank you for visiting my profile.I have over 14 years of dedicated experience as a counsellor. At the heart of my practice lies a profound commitment to building therapeutic relationships rooted in empathy, transparency, and acceptance. You can expect to work with a counsellor who values the essence of the client and counsellor relationship. I am an Integrative Counsellor, which means I have a core framework and I bring in interventions from another theoretical model. I trained as a Person Centred Counsellor and through experience and professional development use aspects of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in my work.
I currently offer online and telephone counselling sessions, a flexible working approach that ensures support is accessible, even in the comfort of your own space.
Practice description
In the safety of this remote environment, you will find a space free from judgment, where your experiences are met with sincere understanding and empathy. The virtual setting is intentionally crafted to mirror the warmth and acceptance of an in-person encounter. I am committed to providing an atmosphere where you feel genuinely seen and heard, fostering a sense of security that is essential for the therapeutic journey.
My first session
The first session will be a be a free 30 minute consultation.
Our first interaction will involve a discussion about the therapeutic contract and setting clear boundaries. We'll explore the confidentiality of our sessions, ensuring you feel secure in sharing your thoughts and emotions. I'll provide an overview of the counselling process, explaining the parameters of our work together, and answering any questions you may have about the therapeutic journey.
I encourage you to share your thoughts on what brings you to counselling, your expectations, and any concerns you may have. Likewise, I'll share insights about my approach, experience, and the principles that guide my practice. This exchange lays the groundwork for a collaborative and transparent therapeutic relationship.
We'll engage in a discussion about your aspirations and what you hope to achieve through therapy. This is an opportunity for you to articulate your goals, whether they relate to personal growth, overcoming challenges, or enhancing well-being. I'm here to listen and understand, ensuring that our work aligns with your unique needs and aspirations.
Understanding that every individual is unique, we will have a conversation about the way of working that resonates with you. About me and my therapy practice
Thank you for visiting my profile.
I have over 14 years of dedicated experience as a counsellor and 8 years as a Counselling Supervisor.
At the heart of my practice lies a profound commitment to building therapeutic relationships rooted in empathy, transparency, and acceptance. You can expect to work with a Supervisor who values the essence of the relationship. I am an Integrative Counsellor, which means I have a core framework and I bring in interventions from another theoretical model. I use this way of working in my approach as a Counselling Supervisor.
I have worked with adults and children and young people in a range of settings, this includes (but is not limited to) drug and alcohol addiction, rape crisis, and school settings.
Whilst working in schools I trained and supervised trainee counsellors and supported them in achieving their placement hours.
I currently offer online and telephone supervision sessions.
Practice description
As a Counselling Supervisor I offer Supervisees a space to reflect on their work with clients.
I hope to provide you with support, guidance, encouragement, and challenge. Through providing an environment that is grounded in person centred theory I foster a relationship with Supervisees that allows them to gain a more objective perspective of their practice and appraise and evaluate the skills used in work with their clients.
As someone with a professional interest in practitioner burnout, the supervisory relationship is an important strategy in preventing counsellors encountering compassion fatigue or vicarious trauma. It is essential that the relationship is built on mutual trust and respect.
