About me and my therapy practice

Life can sometimes throw us curve balls when we least expect them; a bereavement, a job loss, stress, anxiety, losing a pet, ill health to name a few. When this happens it can sometimes have an overwhelming impact on how we are living our lives. Talking to friends/family never quite seems to help us as they often suggest solutions or never really seem to "hear" what we are saying.

This is a time when counselling could perhaps be of benefit.

I offer a safe, warm, peaceful space, in my home, where you can come to explore the curve ball you've been thrown. Often that one incident has triggered memories and emotions that have been hidden away in us or we thought we had dealt with and they may have re surfaced or we just might not be able to work out why we "don't feel quite right".

The counselling style I use is Integrative, which means your therapy will be tailored to your needs. Counselling is a collaborative, encouraging, warm and hopeful process. You may want time limited work or you may want the freedom to explore much of your life and work open ended. The work is about you and what your needs are.

I am an accredited therapist with over 15 years experience. I've worked with children, young people and adults in my Private Practice and for several charities. There are not many issues that I have not worked with. Some include: Loss, separation and divorce, relationship and psychosexual issues, work related stress, bereavement, adjusting to life with children, coping with carers responsibilities, loss of a beloved pet, abuse, illness, sexual abuse in adulthood and childhood, poverty, to name a few.

Counselling takes courage, you have it, as you are here looking for a therapist. Well done. You are on the way to taking control of your feelings and moving forward with your life.

Please feel free to contact me, with no obligation, with any questions you might have.
