About me and my therapy practice
I am a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, with 20 or more years of experience, helping clients with affordable CBT for a wide range of difficulties. C.B.T. aims to make an impact in a short or medium term.
Recently I graduated to other ways of working alongside C.B.T which are supported by N.I.C.E. ( NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR CLINICAL EXCELLENCE ) They are Mindfulness based CBT and Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing. My general background includes relationship therapy, and I have worked as a couple’s counsellor for over 18 years.
I work in 3 postcodes. 1) London Waterloo, SE1, which is about 6 minutes’ walk from the main station. 2) between Oundle / Peterborough and Stamford in Wansford, PE8. 3) Peterborough PE1 Central, which is reserved for those needing bus or train connections.
I am usually able to provide a half hour initial meeting session without fee. Do email me with any questions you may have.
My route into counselling followed a time when I used therapy as a client myself, and I found it really helped. Then, I began training and took placements in charity sector counselling for some years. Finally I settled down to full time work as a therapist. I have always looked for a balance between practical approaches (C.B.T.) and a more personal approach. My major trainings and diplomas reflect that, I believe.
