Welcome to my profile as a relational Integrative Therapist.
I am based in Nottingham City Centre, offering face to face, online plus walk and talk sessions.
I am an experienced BACP Accredited Integrative Counsellor whose first priority is to build a safe non judgemental, holding relationship with you. The first thing I like to do is a get a sense of what it is like to be you.
I can help with anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, grief, stress, relationship issues, work related stress, low self confidence and identity questioning.
The free initial consultation of thirty to forty minutes takes place on the telephone.
About me and my therapy practice
Rarely do we have the opportunity to truthfully say how we are feeling and what we are thinking. In counselling sessions with me you can do just that.
As your Counsellor I will not judge instead I will actively listen, pay attention, hold and support you with whatever you bring to each session.
My humanistic beliefs view each person as a unique individual with the capacity to grow and develop in a positive way. The integrative counselling training allows me to respond to clients in the here and now drawing from a variety of theories and interventions I have learnt over many years.
I have extension experience of supporting people with anxiety, stress, depression and trauma as well as people affected by cancer and grief.
I am happy to accept trainee counsellors and university students at a concessionary rate.
Practice description
Emotions and situations are never static and yet both can be totally overwhelming at times. As your counsellor I will be by your side helping you navigate these challenges and help you seek ways in which your quality of life can improve.
Trusting a stranger is hard. As your counsellor I am impartial, there for you each week and rooting for you to achieve good mental health.
My first session
Our first session is an initial consultation where we go through the counselling contract together and start building a rapport.
I ask a series of questions to build up a picture of what it is like to be you.
An explanation of how I work is offered and then we schedule our sessions, which tend to be at the same time and day each week.
This initial consultation starts with thirty to forty minutes online or over the telephone and is offered free of charge.

Supervision is offered Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at a mutually agreeable time which includes evenings.
Group supervision can be arranged if you have a group of three or four.
I offer face to face and online supervision.
About me and my therapy practice
Integrative, humanistic, relational, creative, and intuitive describe my supervision style.
My supervisees are provided a space where they can be themselves with the freedom to explore where the work takes them knowing they will be supported and not judged.
For supervision I opted to first do a creative and passionate supervision diploma and then naturally moved to the Seven Eyed Model created by Peter Hawkins and Robin Shohet. This model affords me so much scope to help supervisees. For instance by paying attention to the client, wondering about the strategies and interventions used, looking at the relationship between client and supervisee, acknowledging how the supervisee is consciously and unconsciously affected by the work, seeing what emerges from the supervisory relationship, being curious about the supervisor’s own process and examining what exists in the wider context for the client.
Supervisees are expected to attend monthly supervision sessions of usually at least one and half hours.
Currently sessions are offered face to face and online using Zoom.
Practice description
As a supervisor I use the here and now responses in supervision sessions to inform what might be happening in the therapy offered by the supervisee.
My aim is to help the supervisee to pay attention to the client, wonder about the choices they make and identify the connections between various aspects of the client’s life. Experience has taught me that by paying attention to the felt sense of the client far more information can be gathered than purely focussing on the narrative they offer.
Helping supervisees step out of their own perspective to gain greater insight and understanding of the therapeutic relationship is paramount and with this challenge is usually offered. I view challenge as a two-way exchange. I am open to being challenged by supervisees as well as giving challenges. I believe that through challenge we extend our knowledge and deepen our capacity to be with clients.
Listening attentively, respecting the work presented and allowing the supervisee's voice to confidently develop are the features you can expect from supervision with me.
My first session
An hour long initial meeting via Zoom is recommended and this is offered free of charge.
During this time we will discuss the supervisee's expectations and needs and I will explain further how I work.
