About me and my therapy practice
I am a psychotherapist and coach of 17 years and work in a compassionate, informed and experienced way with a broad range of issues.
Contemplating a transformative process such as psychotherapy or coaching can be a step into the unknown and I aim to make the process as comfortable and relatable as possible. I work in person and on Zoom, or a hybrid of both. I offer 50 or 90 minute sessions and frequency can be discussed at our first meeting. I am mindful of people's changing patterns of work/commitments and aim to be as flexible as possible, however initially I would expect to meet weekly.
Each of us experience a unique set of challenges, problems and worries in our life and the benefit of being both a therapist and coach is that I am able to offer a flexible and tailor-made approach to suit you. My style is conversational, friendly, non judgemental and of course confidential. I value psycho education for clients and offer practical support/tools where and when it is helpful.
I stay abreast of developing ideas and neuroscience by attending many workshops and CPD.
I welcome diversity in all forms and consider myself an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community and those identifying as neurodivergent.
I practice and abide by the BACP code of ethics
Practice description
I began my training over 20 years ago, the theoretical approach being Integrative and based on both traditional and modern psychotherapeutic disciplines, namely: Person Centred, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Existential and Formative/Somatic psychology. I later trained in CBT, Human Givens, Therapeutic Coaching and Mindfulness. I have more recently trained in clinical services provision to work with clients that identify as ADHD and/or neurodivergent. I’m also experienced in working with sexual issues, sexuality and gender identity and familiar with the issues encountered and faced by the LBGTQIA+ community.
My extensive training and experience provides a wide range of techniques and models to draw from and also can inform me of the best way of working with you.
My first session
I offer a free introductory 15 min phone call or zoom to discuss any questions or concerns you may have. Please email to arrange a suitable time.
If you wish to go ahead I will provide you with further information regarding contact between sessions, rates, holidays, cancellation fees etc.
