I AM NOT CURRENTLY TAKING ON NEW CLIENTS
My sessions run over Mon, Tue, Thurs & Fri. The earliest starts 9:15am and latest starts 1:15pm.
Please note I am working online over video chat (Skype, Zoom) and am not in-person at the moment.
About me and my therapy practice
I offer a warm, responsive and safe space in which to explore anything you are finding difficult. The relationship between us is a key foundation for the therapeutic work.
My work is also underpinned by how our experiences and challenges relate to what is happening in our bodies - particularly our nervous systems, and I draw on work around Polyvagal Theory and self-regulation (or 'self-soothing'), by such practitioners as Peter Levine, Deb Dana, Stephen Porges, Stanley Keleman and Ruby-Jo Walker.
This way of working allows us to make sense of our experience and recognise how our internal survival systems are trying to help us, despite perhaps sometimes feeling problematic.
From the start, we'll explore what you can do practically to feel more empowered, reconnected to your internal resources and able to be led by the innate drive towards safety and healing we all have within.
Areas I can help with include anxiety and depression, as well as trauma, phobias, challenges from the past, and potentially stressful life experiences such as divorce, illness or becoming a parent.
Crucially - I work with you to understand how you can make the necessary changes to feel better and more able to manage what might be happening for you.
We each have a very rich capacity to heal and feel more in control, and previous clients have said that as a result of working together they feel they understand themselves better, feel greater compassion towards themselves, at peace with previous traumatic experiences and have the tools and strategies to better manage situations.
My first session
I offer a free-of-charge 20 minute phone call if you would like, prior to our first meeting. Alternatively we can have an initial session at my usual rate (£60).
During our first session, we’ll have the opportunity to explore what has brought you to therapy and understand how we could work together. I will encourage you to ask any questions you might have (nothing is silly or obvious) in order for you to make an informed decision about working together. I can also provide some resources for you to look at in your own time afterwards to support the work.

Abuse, ADD / ADHD, AIDS/HIV, Anger management, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Cancer, Child related issues, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Cultural issues, Depression, Disability, Health related issues, Identity issues, Infertility, Loss, Obsessions, OCD, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Service veterans, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma, Women's issues, Work related issues

I AM NOT CURRENTLY TAKING ON NEW CLIENTS
My sessions run over Mon, Tue, Thurs & Fri. The earliest starts 9:15am and latest starts 1:15pm.
I am working online over video chat (Skype, Zoom) and also welcome clients to face to face sessions from my practice room at home in Kingswood, Glos (GL12). Do let me know if you would be interested in this when you make contact.
About me and my therapy practice
It is really important to me that my supervisees feel safe to share the challenges they face in their work, as well as celebrate the successes, so I work with you to build a relationship of trust, honesty and constructive exploration to best serve you and your clients.
As well as a humanistic/relational approach, I bring in the perspectives of neurobiology and the autonomic nervous system as they arise with regards your clients and your own process. We can incorporate this valuable aspect of practice into our work together, regardless of whether or not you have previously trained somatically.
Supervision is not therapy, however I practice from the stance that we do, to some extent bring ourselves personally to our client work - and have found there is much to be gained from considering how our own patterns might be playing out with others. Alongside discussions about client work, I gently support practitioners to connect with what is arising for them in response which leads to the creation of options, moving out of 'stuckness' or feeling better able to manage relational dynamics, for example.
From me, you can expect a safe, supportive and ethically-founded environment within which to explore your client work on a regular basis. If you are a psychological therapist I can support you whether you work integratively, humanistically, psychodynamically or somatically, and with a BACP accreditation application.
