About me and my therapy practice

A fully qualified and experienced, MBACP registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist working in private practice since 2009.- I offer both short and longer-term counselling and psychotherapy to individuals, couples and families. As a member of BACP I adhere strictly to the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy Code of Ethics, and pride myself on practicing to the highest ethical standards. With an honest and open approach, I provide a confidential, supportive and safe space - where people can discuss and explore their personal issues, their choices, their behaviours, their thoughts, their beliefs and feelings - without fear of judgement, reproach or discrimination. People enter into counselling or psychotherapy for many different reasons – each person’s issues are unique, and so my focus is always on the individual. As an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist my therapeutic approach draws from both the Humanistic and Psychodynamic schools of thought in dealing with issues of change or acceptance. I use a number of approaches/styles of counselling to help clients explore and resolve their problems; and to achieve their goals and aspirations. These include Person-centred, Transactional Analysis, Existential and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) principles. I also offer Zoom and telephone sessions, and currently work online and via telephone with clients within the UK and in various other countries around the world – including Pakistan and Kenya.

My first session

Your initial session will provide an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to get a feeling for what it might be like to be in therapy. We will explore what has led you to seek therapy at this time, as well as giving you an opportunity to discuss your expectations, hopes and concerns about therapy.

Towards the end of our first session we will discuss how it was working together, how you feel the session went, and if and how we might continue working together.

If you decide you would like to try a different therapist I will not be offended in any way and you are under no obligation. All therapists work in a unique way, and it is important that you find the right therapist for you
