About me and my therapy practice

I offer long and short term counselling/psychotherapy on a 1-2-1 basis to individuals who wish to explore the difficulties they face in their lives and how these may affect their emotional, psychological or physical wellbeing. I am committed to working within a confidential, supportive and non-judgemental environment and building a respectful and creative therapeutic relationship supporting growth and change. Through my work at an NHS funded LGBT counselling service, two domestic abuse agencies, a GP surgery and private practice, I have experience of working with a wide range of emotional and relational issues, including family/relationship difficulties, stress, anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, abuse, bereavement, loss, work problems, sexuality and gender.

I offer an affirmative approach to gender, sexuality and relationships.

I am BACP registered and accredited and adhere to the BACP Code of Conduct.

About me and my therapy practice

*Online and telephone sessions only

I work from within an integrative relational model. Basically this means that my belief in the influence of the counselling relationship in bringing about positive change is central to my offering a relational approach in which we can explore together your current issues and concerns as well as those stemming from the past.

The therapeutic relationship can often bring up feelings and behaviour that can belong in the past and can mirror the patterns of relating that have caused the very concerns that may be limiting your ability to live life as you would like and which have led to you seeking counselling. By looking at your early attachment relationships and how you came to make sense of yourself, others and the world, we can explore together such patterns in a safe, therapeutic, non-judgmental context. The aim is to help you to achieve understanding, self-compassion and acceptance by deepening awareness of and working through the origins of such patterns and to shed light on your relationships with others and to help you to make changes if you so wish.
