About me and my therapy practice
I work with adults and young people from all backgrounds with different past experiences, cultures, ethnicity and diversity. If you feel you have nobody to talk to, confide in or feel others will not understand you or your past, this is the place for you to be heard and understood.
I am trained in cognitive behavioural therapy and this is the core model that I work from, however I do work eclectically depending on the client and the content of our work - I incorporate humanistic and psychodynamic approaches.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a solution focused approach.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidence based therapy used for a wide range of mental health conditions including; anxiety, fear, depression, perfectionism, low mood, grief and bereavement, phobias, stress, self-esteem, anger issues, and trauma related difficulties. The aim is helping you to live a richer fuller life.
I have experience of working with young people in schools.
Practice description
Sessions are normally once per week and last 45 minutes.
I work online, telephone and also a limited number of out door sessions.
My first session
I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation.
In order to start and establish a trusting relationship, I offer an empathetic and understanding environment for you to feel safe in and to decide collaboratively if the therapy I offer is the right one for you. We can arrange the first appointment at a mutually convenient day and time.
In your first session, we will simply be getting to know each other. We will work to establish a trusting relationship enabling you to talk openly to me in a non judgmental, calm and safe environment. Explore what your aims are and discuss collaboratively how we can work together to meet them.
