About me and my therapy practice
Im Adrian-a relational and relatable counsellor/psychotherapist working from an integrative perspective tailoring my approach to suit each clients needs. I have 15 years experience of working within NHS therapeutic & mental health settings. I also have experience of training/working with trauma and sexual violence and spent some years providing longer term therapy and facilitating groups.I am also experienced within working in the field of higher education and university settings.
I have undertaken specialist training enabling me to work effectively with LGBTQ+ communities and offer support to those who may be questioning/struggling with their gender &/ or sexual identity. I have clinical personal lived experience of some of the issues and challenges minorities can encounter in heteronormative society.
As an accredited mindfulness teacher I can also incorporate aspects of this within client work where appropriate to help with anxiety and panic and learning to live and tolerate pain in chronic health conditions.This can help restore balance and enable better emotional regulation
My first session
I offer clients a initial consultation appointment to see if we are a good fit for working together, this can be online or in person-entirely dependent on your preference.
We can then explore some of your struggles and issues in more detail to find a way forward together.I work at your pace-Clients experience me as authentic, empathetic, warm and very relatable- which is so important to any to relationship where we learn to build trust and feel safe enough to explore our thoughts & feelings in a safe environment.

I am a relational and relatable counsellor and psychotherapist working from a integrative perspective tailoring my approach to suit each clients needs. I have 15 years experience of working within NHS and Mental health settings. I also have vast experience of working within the field of higher education. I have undertook specialised training enabling me to work effectively with clients from LGBTQ+ Communities and have deep understanding of the issues and challenges minority groups can encounter. I draw from an integrative approach and have significant experience of working with trauma and the body. I have worked for Rape Crisis supporting males with experience of sexual violence. I am an accredited mindfulness teacher and If suitable I may incorporate mindfulness into my practice to help clients manage and minimise anxiety and panic attack symptoms and help restore emotional regulation.
Practice description
I am an experienced therapist working with all sectors of the community. I particularly welcome clients form LGBTQ+ backgrounds.
I am available for face to face sessions along with some online video work nationwide.
in addition to my therapy training I am also an accredited Mindfulness Now teacher and incorporate aspects of mindfulness within my client work where appropriate.
My first session
We meet for an initial assessment either in person or online and explores your current difficulties and reasons for seeking therapy. We can see if we are a good match together and if we decide to work together we identify particular issues you may be struggling with and how best we can work to manage them.We regularly review our work together. Clients tell me they find me authentic, warm and very relatable- which makes it easier to feel comfortable to open up to explore thoughts and feelings.I also have a good sense of humour and this can also be a big help where appropriate!
