About me and my therapy practice
I am a warm and empathic therapist who puts the needs of the individual at the heart of my work. Having trained psychodynamically, I use my experience of working in both public and private sectors to create an environment where you can feel safe and respected, and experience being seen and validated. My practice is anti-racist and LGBTIQ+ affirmative. I work with a range of presentations and aim to support you to gain a greater understanding of, and develop compassion towards, yourself. I am particularly interested in periods of transition and how our personal and professional relationships, aspirations and needs change and adapt as we encounter new experiences and life stages.
Practice description
I offer face to face sessions in Hackney on Tuesday afternoons and I also work online via Zoom across the week. Do get in touch via the contact form or melissajonestherapy@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like to set up an initial consultation.
A consultation / first session is an opportunity for me to get a sense of what's brought you to therapy, for you to understand a little more about how I work and for us to establish if we are a good fit to work together. We can agree to further sessions as feels useful and can review sessions together as we progress.
